When Cesibel found a lost Rottweiler, she did the right thing—bringing her to a local shelter to check for a microchip. But when they scanned her, they said there was no information available.
Not giving up, Cesibel posted online, and someone suggested she send the microchip number to Microchip Hunters (MH). That’s when things got interesting! The chip number wasn’t valid, but MH didn’t stop there. After testing a few possible variations, a match was found! Charlotte’s owner was located, and after a few calls, she was reunited with her family this evening! A big THANK YOU to Cesibel for her persistence, to Charlotte’s family for welcoming her back, and to Microchip Hunters for finding her family and ensuring her chip is now properly registered. A new tag for her collar is also on the way! *Back home photo* Lost Dogs Illinois Microchip Hunters www.microchiphelp.com

Lucky was brought into Chicago Animal Care and Control as a stray on February 3. Lucky did have a microchip, but when CACC called, the voicemail didn’t seem to match up to the owner’s information. They left a voicemail but never heard back so they sent the information to the Microchip Hunters.
Jessica S took the case and was eventually able to find a Facebook page for a family member. Lucky’s owner reached out right away to find out where Lucky was. It turns out there was a typo in the phone number in the microchip record! Thankfully, all worked out, and Lucky was able to go home on February 7! When Bella's owner couldn't be reached through the phone number on file from the microchip, Chicago Animal Care and Control sent it to Microchip Hunters - Thank you!
Microchip Hunter, Cheryl, was able to find a current number for Bella's family and when she contacted them, she learned that Bella was missing for a few weeks! She was picked up that day and is back home! Welcome home Bella! Lost Dogs Illinois Microchip Hunters www.microchiphelp.com Riley, a little Shiba Inu found in Blue Island, had a microchip that was registered to an owner with a disconnected phone number. There was no address listed and a temporary email address for the microchip company.
Thank you to the finder, who had the dog scanned at Blue Island Police Department, and to Cindy who sent the microchip number to Microchip Hunters (MH) for help. Background searches were checked by MH, and a number for the son in law was found, and the finder's number was shared to them! Riley went home right away, and Microchip Hunters helped register the microchip and order an ID tag for her collar! Welcome home, Riley! Once again, we can't stress the importance of updating microchip registrations! Lost Dogs Illinois Microchip Hunters www.microchiphelp.com |
