15 year old Simone didn't need a new home, she just needed some help finding her home!
Thank you to the finder who took Simone in for a few days while waiting to hear back from the owner on the microchip. She was ready to give the cat a new home, but thanks to Sue who then took her in to make sure all efforts were exhausted to find her family, she was able to get back home. Sue sent the microchip number to Microchip Hunters who reached the owner registered on the microchip. The owner explained that the cat actually belonged to her ex, whose family lived in Lindenhurst. The phone numbers she provided for her ex were no longer correct, and she hadn't been in touch with him for years. After some research, it looked like the ex now lives out of state. Microchip Hunters was able to find a match to an address for the parents of this ex, and Sue was able to bring Simone home! She lived close to where she was found, but is an indoor only cat so was a relief that she is back home! She had been away for three days. Thank you to all involved, and let's make sure our microchips are registered correctly! Microchip Hunters is helping the family update Simone's chip too! #MicrochipHunters www.microchiphelp.com Lost Dogs Illinois

Binks went missing from his family five years ago, but thanks to a kind-hearted Good Samaritan and a microchip that still had a trail to follow, he's finally back where he belongs.
Binks was found on the North Side of Chicago by a wonderful woman named Shainy, who brought him to a vet to be scanned for a microchip. The chip company was contacted and made attempts to reach the registered owner, but no luck. That’s when Shainy reached out to Microchip Hunters for help—while continuing to care for Binks with 'food, water, gentle pets, scritches, and lots of sunbeam naps.' Microchip Hunter Weslee took on the case and, after hitting some dead ends with the primary contact, was able to locate a working number for the emergency contact listed on the chip—Binks’ owner's ex-husband. He was shocked to learn Binks had been found and didn’t hesitate to drive a couple of hours from his home in Indianapolis through a dust storm to reunite with him last night! Binks is reportedly very thin after all this time, but he’s now safe, loved, and finally back HOME after five long years. We are so grateful for Shainy’s compassion and persistence, and for Weslee’s detective work to track down the family! Welcome home, Binks. Lost Dogs Illinois Microchip Hunters www.microchiphelp.com |
