ROMEO was found in Chicago, and with the help of many, is on his way back home to Texas, thanks to his microchip!
Though Romeo's microchip was not registered, Garrido Stray Rescue Foundation messaged Microchip Hunters for help finding this French Bulldog's family! Microchip Hunters was able to find the breeder information, who provided the owner's name and contact information from 2021. The phone number was not current, but with some research, a family member was found! Romeo's owner, Armando, called me within minutes and explained what happened! Romeo is Armando's traveling companion as he is a Truck Driver! "He is our family dog" Thank you Garrido Stray Rescue Foundation for messaging Microchip Hunters for help: "This was a team effort and lots of Prayers from Romeo's family. They thought he was lost forever. But now he is heading back to Texas to be welcomed home. His owner was able to change his route and work his way back to Chicago for a happy reunion!!" "Once again Lost Dogs Illinois Microchip Hunters works their magic. His name is Romeo and he is from Texas. He travels the country with his owner who is an over the road truck driver. They were staying in a motel in Schiller Park. While his owner was out picking up his next trailer, a housekeeper opened their door and Romeo escaped. He searched for Romeo for as long as he could but had to get back on the road. His owner was extremely emotional and said they have been praying for days hoping he would be found. The owner is in New Mexico right now and working out his route to travel back to Chicago to be reunited. Thank you to Gayle for stepping up to short term Foster. Thank you to Riser Animal Hospital for squeezing Romeo in for a checkup and vaccinations (confirmed with his owner he was overdue). Romeo also had a tick that needed to be removed. He is now with our friends at The Dog House of L C & L; safe and sound until his owner can get back to Chicago. Please share: Male found in the parking lot at the Kennedy and Cumberland Blueline parking lot; no tags, chip not registered wearing a collar and leash attached."
