Mario disappeared from his home two weeks ago and was picked up by a good Samaritan last week. His finder contacted Microchip Hunters with the chip information in the hopes that we could find his family! The good Samaritan learned about Microchip Hunters through PetFBI!
It was found that Mario's dad passed away in 2019 and his chip was never updated by his new owner. Microchip Hunters volunteer Catherine took this case and was able to contact a family member who told her that Mario had gone to live with the sister of the chipped owner. Catherine found his new owner's phone number and reached out to her and learned that she had been missing Mario and was over the moon that he had been found! Mario's owner was able to get in contact with his finder and immediately drove over and picked him up, and he is now safely at home once again. This is a great reminder to make sure that you update your pet's microchip as soon as you bring them home, especially if you got them from a friend or family member who is deceased! Luckily in this case we were able to reach a family member of Mario's original owner but imagine if we hadn't! He may have never gone back to the people who love him. Welcome home Mario! Muchas gracias estoy mucho muy agradecida!!!
Chloe went missing close to 4 years ago, and her family got a call today that she was found and is coming home! They had her microchipped in 2011. Chloe's microchip was never registered and Chicago Animal Control requested information from the implant facility, Paws Chicgo. In the meantime, they sent it to Microchip Hunters who heard back from Paws Chicago with the owner information the next morning. The owner only spoke Spanish, but put her young daughter on the phone. She understood I was asking about a Chihuahua. The daughter explained that they were missing Chloe and that she went missing 3 years ago. They waited a couple hours for Chicago Animal Control to open, and went to reclaim her immediately! They went to get her a bed and food, and she is home resting comfortably! "Si pero después de 4años sin verla le daremos todo el amor que ella se merece fue mucho tiempo de estar sin ella: "Yes, but after 4 years without seeing her, we will give her all the love she deserves. It was a long time without her." Imagine if she wasn't microchipped. She would have not made it home. Once again, the importance of the microchip - we don't know when our dogs might go missing. Thank you Chicago Animal Care and Control for submitting and PAWS Chicago for your wonderful record keeping! We will help make sure to get Chloe's microchip registered. Welcome home, you are loved Lost Dogs Illinois Microchip Hunters www.microchiphelp.com
Kisses was found in Chicago and taken to VEG, who then took her to Chicago Animal Care and Control on October 4. Kisses did have a microchip, but the phone number was no longer valid, so they sent her info to the Microchip Hunters for help. Luckily, Kisses’ owner was pretty easy to locate online through his business page, and he responded to Jessica S very quickly. He said that he had believed Kisses and her brother Hugs were safely in the custody of his ex but has since come to believe they were released sometime in the last year. Kisses’ owner was very excited at the opportunity to be reunited with his cat and picked her up from CACC on October 9! Biscuit did have a microchip, but the phone number was disconnected.
Microchip Hunter Jessica S did some digging and was able to find the number for the owner’s daughter. The daughter answered her phone on her way to work and immediately pulled over when she realized her mother’s missing dog had been found! She said her mother had been distraught and crying since Biscuit had gone missing. Mother and daughter were able to bring Biscuit home on October 6. Jessica S said this one was a little extra special because her own mother had previously had a cat named Biscuit. 'They didn't want to wait to officially surrender.
Thank you to Chicago Animal Care and Control for submitting this case to Microchip Hunters when the phone number for the chip was not correct. The owner on this microchip called Microchip Hunters immediately when they received an email that her dog was found. Stormy went missing exactly a year ago. It turns out that 3 of the numbers entered on Stormy's registration were transposed, but her email was correct. Stormy went home after her spay, thanks to her microchip! No assumptions here! We know there are many circumstances that bring animals to animal control, and they are not always what they appear. We have no idea how Stormy ended up with a new family that brought her in to surrender, but we do know that her family was really happy to get this email! Welcome home Stormy, glad you are back with your family. Lost Dogs Illinois Microchip Hunters www.microchiphelp.com Isabella was found by a good Samaritan and taken to Chicago Animal Care and Control on Sep 26, 2024. Isabella was microchipped but when CACC tried to call her owner they discovered the number was no longer working so they submitted the information to the Microchip Hunters.
Microchip Hunter Jessica was able to find an email address for Isabella’s owner. Soon after receiving the email her owner had emailed and texted Jessica back to confirm she was Isabella’s owner, and she was looking for her! Isabella was picked up from CACC and is back home.
