Home at Last! The found Pit Bull Terrier from #Chicago, IL, is home safe and sound! Found 2025-11-20 Reunited 2025-11-22. Welcome home!
Thanks to a diligent finder, the input from a wonderful Southwest Chicago community, and the resources of Microchip Hunters, this dog has found his way back home. This dog was found and immediately the finder posted on a local Chicago community page where they received many tips, including to have the dog scanned, post on Lost Dogs Illinois and work with Microchip Hunters to research the chip information. The finder had the dog scanned and learned the dog’s name was Bones but that the owner’s contact information was outdated. He was referred to post to Lost Dogs Illinois as found, and to send to Microchip Hunters to help research to see if they could find current information for the owner. Valerie from Microchip Hunters was able to research and locate current contact info for Bone’s family. Thanks to incredible teamwork, Bones is now back home. #LostDogsIllinois #PetFBI ID# 756625

This beautiful dog (on the left) was found as a stray in Mt. Prospect. Her microchip was unregistered, and the microchip company wasn't showing any information about who the chip was sold to. Thank you to the Mt Prospect Police Department and Border Tails Rescue (stray holding facility for Mt. Prospect) for sending Microchip Hunters the microchip number for help. Thankfully, Microchip Hunters was able to find information for the rescue Nova was adopted from, and they had paperwork with a current phone number! Nova's family answered and I could hear the nervousness when asked if she was missing a dog. I let her know first of all the dog was safe. She said they were out looking for her all day and just came home in tears when they had no luck. “We live in Arlington heights. We just moved here from Palatine so she is completely unfamiliar with the area. We live on the first floor in an apartment and she managed to squeeze through when my husband opened the sliding door. She went after every squirrel she saw until she ran too far, we had been looking since 11AM” I reached the family at 5 pm I let the family know where to reclaim Nova, and received a photo of her back home with her sister! She said 'she seems so startled still. We are really lucky to have found her.' Nova's family registered both dog's chips now! "Just wanted to thank you again for taking the time to search the way you did. We will be forever grateful." Shiloh was found tied outside of Chicago Animal Care and Control, but he was microchipped so they submitted his information to Microchip Hunters. The phone number linked to Shiloh's microchip was invalid. Shiloh's stray hold was also ending so it became urgent to find his owner. Microchip Hunter Pauline started looking at alternatives to contact the owner and found a match on Facebook. Luckily the owner answered quickly and confirmed it was his dog. Shiloh was missing for a few months, the owners were looking at found posts hoping to see him. They went that day to pick him up and are very happy to have him back home where he belongs! The microchip was registered to a family but the numbers and address on file were outdated. Microchip Hunters was able to reach the mother of the family, and received a call within minutes. I shared a photo of Aziza and passed along the contact information for the finder and her daughter, and arrangements were made for pickup! "That's my baby, thank you" Welcome home, Aziza! Microchip Hunters made sure the contact information for the microchip was updated, and an ID tag was ordered for her collar in case she goes on another adventure!
