Sabah found this little dog on July 28th running the street. She took him to the vet to scan for a chip, and he had one! The number was disconnected, but she knew his name was Lee and he was 7 years old. She took him to her home, not in the neighborhood found in.
Sabah registered to PetFBI to post to Lost Dogs Georgia, and also had him groomed and checked out by the vet. She hadn't heard from an owner, and submitted the microchip information to Microchip Hunters. I (Microchip Hunter) found that the owner on the microchip had passed away in 2023, so began researching relatives in the area. I found one with an address close to where the dog was listed as found, and left a voicemail, text and email that I found for her, along with trying other relatives. I wasn't getting any replies, and suggested Sabah get flyers up in the area he was found. I received a call 4 days later. Maida, the wife of the owner on the microchip, saw my email - she said she had been crying for a week, and had been looking for him, calling around and said she had flyers up! Maida called late in the evening, and said she doesn't check emails that often but was glad she did! Sabah brought Lee back home to his family yesterday, and they were so happy to see him, I ordered a tag for his collar and will be helping get his microchip information updated. All the contact information is outdated - so important to update any time there is a change! "God bless you we missed him so much. I am so grateful and will forever be grateful to you and Sabah" Welcome home, Lee, you sure were missed, and special thanks to Sabah for keeping Lee safe for the family, taking such great care of him, and for understanding how important it is to reunite dogs to their families!
