This beautiful dog (on the left) was found as a stray in Mt. Prospect. Her microchip was unregistered, and the microchip company wasn't showing any information about who the chip was sold to. Thank you to the Mt Prospect Police Department and Border Tails Rescue (stray holding facility for Mt. Prospect) for sending Microchip Hunters the microchip number for help. Thankfully, Microchip Hunters was able to find information for the rescue Nova was adopted from, and they had paperwork with a current phone number! Nova's family answered and I could hear the nervousness when asked if she was missing a dog. I let her know first of all the dog was safe. She said they were out looking for her all day and just came home in tears when they had no luck. “We live in Arlington heights. We just moved here from Palatine so she is completely unfamiliar with the area. We live on the first floor in an apartment and she managed to squeeze through when my husband opened the sliding door. She went after every squirrel she saw until she ran too far, we had been looking since 11AM” I reached the family at 5 pm I let the family know where to reclaim Nova, and received a photo of her back home with her sister! She said 'she seems so startled still. We are really lucky to have found her.' Nova's family registered both dog's chips now! "Just wanted to thank you again for taking the time to search the way you did. We will be forever grateful." Lost Dogs Illinois Microchip Hunters www.microchiphelp.com
