Missing for over a week...

Oceancna was picked up and taken to Chicago Animal Care and Control, and the phone number on file was disconnected. Microchip Hunters received the information, and went to work researching the owner to try and reach them.

I found a working phone number for someone that shared the same address, and it turned out to be the brother of the owner. He gave me the number for his niece, and she helped her mom arrange for Oceancna to be picked up. She had been missing over a week.

I was able to help get the phone number updated to their current number, and Lost Dogs Illinois will be sending an ID tag for her collar.

"They automatically got excited when her vehicle pulled up!"

Erica found these two dogs, and took them in but couldn't keep them for very long. One of them was microchipped but the owner had a disconnected phone number. Thank you to Doris F. for tagging Microchip Hunters! These dogs were found in Missouri!

I was able to get the microchip number from Erica, and sure enough the number was disconnected. I was able to find a working phone number, and Escobar's family answered my text quickly! They said they were also missing their Boxer!
They were able to contact Erica, and picked both their dogs up!

"They automatically got excited when her vehicle pulled up. You just get that feeling when they're tails wag, they are called by name and know their owners. Thank you for your help, I truly believe I wouldn't have found their home if not for you."

Escobar's microchip will be updated to their current phone number!

Thanks to Erica and Doris for helping get these two home! Photo on the right is Escobar back home...

Chloe was at Chicago Animal Control for her stray hold when she was found on Jan 10th. Microchip Help received the case when the phone number was no longer to that of the owner on the microchip.

It took a few days for me to reach her or anyone in her family, but I finally found a working number and connected with a sister out of state, where the owner was actually visiting! She didn't know Chloe was lost, but drove in the next afternoon and was able to pick Chloe up today! She isn't sure what happened yet with the person that had Chloe, but was so grateful for the call and so happy to pick her up. Today was her last day of her hold. She had Chloe since she was 2 months old, and she over 8 years old.

This little Cockpoo was found and Chicago Animal Control was called to pick him up as his microchip wasn´t registered and went back to a breeder in Missouri that was out of business and had a disconnected phone number. He was microchipped in 2015.
Chicago Animal Control sent it to Microchip Hunters for help!

I was able to find a working cell phone number for the breeder. He is now in Texas and told me they were no longer in business. He offered to give me his son´s number as he could get into their old office in Missouri, but was not sure he would be able to find information.

I spoke to the son, and he was so nice to go check for me! I was pleasantly surprised to get a text soon after with owner information, and was shocked when I saw a Chicago address for the owner!

I left a vm and text to Christy, then tried a number I found for the husband and we spoke. He sounded confused, and after a call from Christy I figured out why! They had just gotten a puppy 8 weeks ago and he thought this was him that was found. Christy explained to me that she hasn´t seen Pluto in years but wanted to go to CACC to make sure it was him. I told her it had to be, though she couldn´t tell from the photo, and I explained my call to the breeder. She said, ¨Oh yes he came from Missouri!¨

Christy went to CACC and saw Pluto, and her cousin and family that has owned him the last 6 years went yesterday to pick him up after receiving his vaccinations! They were so happy to know he was microchipped; when Christy gave Pluto to them they didn´t know, and he went missing Christmas Day when his kids left the gate open.

Thanks for sending to us, Chicago Animal Care and Control; Pluto is happy to be home!

I registered the microchip for the family today, and they shared a 'back home' video in comments!

Chicago Animal Control sent in the microchip number to Microchip Hunters for this little sweetheart. The microchip wasn't registered and the pet store he came from had closed up at that location.

I was able to get owner information from corporate, and our Microchip Hunter volunteer, Amy D,. went to work trying phone numbers, email and Facebook messaging like crazy! He was purchased in 2015, and the owner information was not current.

Amy D. saw that the family posted on Facebook that Paco went missing October 1st! He was still missing, and Erika was beyond ecstatic when she got the news! Paco and his ´sister´ were out together when he went missing, and she had been waiting for this call ever since!

Today Paco went home to his very happy family. ¨This is the best NYE ever! I´ve missed him sooooo much¨

We will be sure the microchip gets registered too!

Missing 10/1/2021; Reunited 1/1/2022 Welcome home Paco!!!

Home at Last! The found Maltipoo (her name is Joy) from #Chicago #IL is home safe and sound!

Joanna took this little found Maltipoo in after the finder was unable to hold on to her. Michelle, Lost Dogs Illinois Volunteer, posted her and read this on the registration "Spayed, chipped, chip returned to PAWS, PAWS said they never sheltered her but she was spayed in their clinic. Person who had her spayed found her as a stray and rehomed her. Family who rehomed her said she ran away from them approximately 2011. We don’t know who has had her since then." Michelle reached out to Jeanette from Lost Dogs Illinois and Microchip Help, who received the microchip number this afternoon when Joanna was able to get her rescanned. The finder never wrote the chip number down from the vet that did the original search. Jeanette found that there was another registration, and was able to reach Joy's family. Joy has been with this family for 11 years.

From Joy's Family: "I just talked to her. Thank you so much for reaching out. I'm getting her back today. God bless you!"

Her microchip is now registered to the original manufacturer of the microchip too, so that it doesn't get missed again!

Thank you Joanna for taking such good care of this little girl!
