Chiquis went missing on March 11th, 2023. She was microchipped, and her family was actively looking for her! They checked with Chicago Animal Control to see if she was there a couple of times, but it was too early! She wasn't turned in until March 20th!
Chiquis' microchip was never registered and the facility that microchipped her didn't have any information, so Chicago Animal Care and Control sent the information to Microchip Hunters. Because no owner information could be found, Microchip Hunters posted to Lost Dogs Illinois, in hopes that the owner would see her post! It worked!!! I received a call yesterday from Stephanie who saw the post on Lost Dogs Illinois and told me it looks like we found her dog! The microchip number from her paperwork was a match and they went to Chicago Animal Control yesterday to pick Chiquis up! I made sure to help the family register the microchip properly, and a new ID tag was ordered for her collar! If you have your dog's microchip number, please always check to be sure it is registered, and your information is entered correctly! Also, keep checking with animal control, stray holds can be short and you never know when your dog will be picked up or turned in! Missing 3/11/2023 Reunited 3/24/2023 Welcome home, Chiquis! You are loved!!! So happy you are home!!! LostDogsIllinois Microchip Hunters www.microchiphelp.com
