The Adams County SPCA sent in a microchip to Microchip Hunters for a ShihTzu found with a disconnected phone number. This is in Pennsylvania, and the owner on file showed an address for Delaware. The dog showed as a 15 year old ShihTzu!
I found the owner on facebook, and sent a message, "Hi yes she is mine. I reached out to the spca but they were gone for the day. She's been missing for about 8 years!" Teresa told me that she still lived at the same address in Delaware, but her phone number has changed. She gave me her new number and I emailed SPCA back and provided it as well, in case they didn't get her message right away! The next morning I received the email back that they were in contact with Teresa, and that they would be coming for her!!! Tammy from the SPCA kept us updated: "She has been picked up!!! They have a long drive back to Delaware. Her son picked Remy up because she was working today ... her son is partially to blame for her getting away. He was such a pleasant guy and said that maybe he will be out of the doghouse with his Mom now!" "Thank you soo much for the quick response!! Soo often we run into dead ends with microchips and your service is greatly appreciated!!!" "Hi Jeanette!!! Just got a message from little Remy's Mom and two pics. Remy is doing well. We gave her a bath and she's going to the vet next week for a wellness check. Thanks so much for finding Me. Her fur brother Kobe loves her...We are overwhelmed with excitement. I've been crying all night...tears of joy...lol. she's always been a sweet girl. She remembers most things...didn't forget how to beg for treats" We are also so happy for Remy and her family! Nice job Adams County SPCA, thank you for going the extra mile to get Remy back to her family!!! Welcome home!!! Photos below! Microchip Hunter Laura was able to find a current number for the family, and they said they were looking for Simba. "Just spoke with Danielle and she will be picking him up in the morning! She’s been looking for him." Thanks for sending this for help, Chicago Animal Care and Control! We will be helping to ensure this microchip gets registered to his family. After all, he is 14 years old!!! Welcome home Simba, Found 5/25/2023 Reunited 5/27/2023. You are loved. Lost Dogs Illinois Microchip Hunters www.microchiphelp.com Margie found this little guy in #Chicago #IL and posted him as found May 16th to some neighborhood facebook pages. She took him to a vet to get scanned for a microchip too, but it wasn't showing up as registered anywhere.
We are so thankful that many fans commented on that neighborhood post letting Margie know to send to Microchip Help, in case an owner could be found. Today, Margie sent in the chip information by our jotform. Microchip Hunters also couldn't find this microchip registered anywhere, but through experience recognized that a number could be off and decided to check into it. I replaced a 7 to a 2. Sure enough, a registration showed up for a dog matching this description in Chicago. I called the owner on file and she said, OMG, yes we rehomed Smokey but the new family is looking for her. She said they didn't know how to update the microchip information, and gave me the contact information to share to the finder. Smokey went home after work today! The family was very happy, and Margie was too!!! She said it was her pleasure taking care of him!!! Welcome home Smokey, and thanks again to all that helped! *Reunion Photo* Lost Dogs Illinois Microchip Hunters www.microchiphelp.com Prince went missing and was taken to Chicago Animal Care and Control. When CACC didn't hear back from the family right away, they sent the microchip information to Microchip Hunters.
Microchip Hunters reached the family, and Prince's family didn't have the money right away to pick him up. They asked how long they could hold him. Lost Dogs Illinois offered to help with the reclaim fee, and Prince was neutered and went home to his family. Welcome home Prince, you are loved! Thank you to our family, friends and fans who donate so we can help with reclaim fees! Lost Dogs Illinois Microchip Hunters www.microchiphelp.com Chicago Animal Care and Control wasn't able to find this owner information for Brownie, so they sent it to Microchip Hunters! We were able to get information from the facility that microchipped him, and the family was looking for Brownie!
They said they will get to animal control right away, "that's my baby." We will be getting the microchip registered too!!! We are glad Brownie went home! He didn't need to take up shelter space for a dog that needed it! Welcome home Brownie, you are loved! Lost Dogs Illinois Microchip Hunters www.microchiphelp.com We are so happy Chicago Animal Control sends dead end microchips to Microchip Hunters. Henny didn't need a new home, she just needed to go home. Microchip Hunters found a working phone number for Henny's family when the number on file with the microchip company didn't belong to him. It took numerous tries and many calls and texts to family members. The family called back but couldn't pay the reclaim fee, so Lost Dogs Illinois helped with that to get Henny home. We appreciate our fan's donations to help us do this! Welcome home Henny! You are loved! Lost Dogs Illinois Microchip Hunters www.microchiphelp.com Microchip Hunters received this case when the phone number for the owner on the microchip wasn't current. It was registered to both the manufacturer of the microchip and an alternate chip company.
Microchip Hunters was able to reach the family by reaching a nephew, and Shadow was picked up!!! They were looking for him and just reported him lost, to one chip company! The family was given the microchip number and information for BOTH chip companies to make sure BOTH are updated to current information! Though all should be contacted, you never know which chip company will be called! Make sure if your dog is registered to more than one chip company, that all get updated when there is a change. www.petmicrochiplookup.com can be a guide if you are unsure! Welcome home Shadow!
