Buddy was found just down the street from his home. His family had an ID tag on him, and the good Samaritan that found him left a vm and text message. When she didn't hear back from the family, they took Buddy to Chicago Animal Control.
Chicago Animal Control sent this to Microchip Hunters right away! Since we just had an address and phone number, research had to be done to find a name. Though I was sure I had the correct name, I was unable to find any phone numbers for this person. Fortunately, I found Buddy's 'mom' on social media, however was told that she wasn't going to be able to pick him up. She said she couldn't afford fees or vaccinations. When I mentioned that Lost Dogs Illinois could help her pay the fees, she said, "OK, thank you, I love Buddy I had him for a while now. I will find a ride to pick him up" Buddy was her daughter's dog, and the phone number on his ID tag turned out to be an old phone number for the daughter (it didn't belong to anyone in the family any longer). The daughter went to pick him up the next day! Buddy went home vaccinated and microchipped, and LDI also ordered him a new ID tag with the correct phone number. Thank you Chicago Animal Control for sending this over to Microchip Hunters. Buddy didn't need to find a new home! Found 11/26/2022, Reunited 11/29/2022 Welcome home Buddy!

Cowboy had an adventure! He was found running around near a school and brought home by a good samaritan. He was microchipped and the finder sent the microchip number to Microchip Hunters, who started working on this. It was an unregistered microchip. A couple days later, Cowboy escaped from the finder and was nowhere to be found! Thankfully, he was turned in to Chicago Animal Control by Chicago PD! When CACC wasn't able to reach the owner, microchip hunters went to work again researching this owner. After not having success reaching the owner directly, a brother was contacted and it turned out he was watching Cowboy while his brother was out of town! He looked for a couple of days and didn't have any luck, and was really glad to hear he was found! The microchip will be updated!
