Just in time for his grooming appointment!

Just in time for his grooming appointment!

14 year old Simba went missing just a couple of weeks after his vaccines! He was wearing his rabies tag, so Chicago Animal Control contacted his vet for owner information. He was not microchipped. They also sent this to microchip hunters!

Though Simba had just been at the vet a couple of weeks ago, the owner hadn't updated their contact information since 2017. The phone numbers on file were not current. The vet said "Oh, and he has a grooming appointment for tomorrow, so if they call me I will let you know!"

After some background checking on-line, I found the 'mom' of the owner that the vet had on file. It is actually her dog, and her daughter was visiting and took Simba to the vet for her! She was so excited that Simba was found and ok! he was missing for 5 days already! She said that he got out of their yard, they had moved a piece of wood that blocks an opening in the fence, and he got out. She also told me he had a grooming appointment and was so worried he would miss it!

Simba's family had posted on the RING and Neighbors app, but nobody on there had seen him! Those are great places to share your lost dogs to, as everyone on there is in the area. It is important, however, to flyer, and to share to Lost Dogs Illinois and other pages too! Not everyone is on the neighborhood apps and many fans are not able to see the neighborhood pages to match to dogs taken to faciities!

Simba the Long Haired Chihuahua is 14 years old, and his family loves him so much - Chicago Animal Control microchipped him and he went home yesterday, so he could make his grooming appointment today! Found 4/13/2023 Reunite 4/18/2023 Welcome home Simba!

Both Ben and Bae are home!

Both Ben and Bae were found and taken to Chicago Animal Control by Chicago Police! Though they were microchipped and had been to CACC once before a long time ago, the number they tried didn't belong to the person on record.

Microchip Hunters were sent the information, and MH Amy D. found a working number for Thomas! He was able to send his daughter with an authorization letter and copy of his ID, and they were picked up and home safe and sound!

Lost Dogs Illinois ordered ID tags for both dogs, and the microchip information was sent to the family so they can update!

Welcome home Ben and Bae, you are loved!

Microchip Hunters helped these cuties get home to their families

Microchip Hunters helped these cuties get home to their families over the past week by reaching their families. Thank you to the finders, CPD and Chicago Animal Care and Control for keeping them safe and reaching out for help getting them home!

Thankfully they were all microchipped!

Levi was registered to three microchip companies. Two of them had the original owner information which was not the current owner, and the third one went to the family that was going to adopt him from the shelter but didn't! Levi ended up adopted to another family, but the change to the correct family was never made. Microchip Hunters reached out to the shelter for information for this family, and also updated the microchip with all three companies! Thank you to the finder who kept him for several days! The family heard a couple of girls had him and that he escaped from them too!!! They have 4 kids at home that were happy to get him back! A collar, leash and ID tag are on the way!

Ivy's family was out of town, and picked her up as soon as they could! Microchip Hunters let a brother know where she was, and he gave his sister the information to let CACC know they were coming for her!

Bubba's family was happy to get the call that he was at CACC, and went to pick him up right away!

Peluchin's family speaks Spanish. Microchip Hunters sent a text in Spanish, and the family replied right away asking where he was and that he was missing. Peluchin went home the next day! On the microchip registration, it said "Spanish speaking!" That was SOOOOO helpful and made getting Peluchin home much smoother!

Accurate microchip information is essential!
