'He was meant to be with us'

Binx, was brought into Chicago Animal Care and Control by a Good Samaritan! He was microchipped but the phone number was disconnected, and the address went back to Milwaukee, WI.

Microchip Hunters received this case from CACC for help reaching his family, and were able to find a number for a family member that provided a current number for his chipped owner.

I called Heidi at her new number, and she was really glad to get this call because she had temporarily rehomed Binx a few years ago with a friend of a friend, as they were moving out of state for a short period of time. They needed a place for him to stay. When they got back to Wisconsin, the friend had lost touch with her friend, and they never heard about Binx again. They were nowhere near Chicago!

His family really missed him, and now live 4 hours away in Wisconsin, but borrowed a relative's car and made the trip today (8 hours roundtrip) to get him home from Chicago! Heidi's son said, 'mom, this cat was meant to be with us.' Heidi agreed and Binx is settling in at home with their 2 other cats. So far so good...he looks a little beat up from being out but is in pretty good health.

We are so glad to be able to help CACC with these reunions, and microchips really do make a difference! When you least expect it, you may get a call that your dog or cat is coming home! Thank you to the Good Samaritan that brought him to CACC!

Thank you Marshfield Area Pet Shelter for sending this microchip information to www.microchiphelp.com for help when you couldn't reach the family!

"We have a happy ending to Gracie's story! Her real name is Bella and thanks to Lisa (left in the picture), a volunteer with Microchip Hunters, we were able to reach Bella’s owner!

Bella went missing from her Chicago area home in August 2021. Her owner, Ebony, searched everywhere, hung posters and never gave up hope. Bella is now reunited with her very grateful mom thanks to the good samaritans who found her, the Microchip Hunters team and her microchip!

Watch News 9 WAOW and WSAW NewsChannel 7 at 9pm and 10pm TONIGHT to hear more about her happy reunion! "

Thank you Lisa for reaching the brother so he could let the family know she was found!!! Bella’s family traveled 3 1/2 hours today to Wisconsin to pick Bella up!!!

Jackson County Animal Shelter-Wisconsin needed help getting this cat home. They said he is the sweetest cat.

Microchip Hunter Volunteer Lisa, from Wisconsin, worked on reaching the family. She got a call back from someone with another name, and was told that the registered owner let her know that Brim was found! She was very happy to hear this, and went to pick him up the next day!

Lucky for Brim! Microchip Hunters are here to help!

Another stray cat home!

Benjamin took in a stray, beautiful orange Tabby, and posted him with Lost Cats of Wisconsin. He had him scanned for a microchip, but the 24 Petwatch chip wasn't registered. From there, it was sent to Microchip Hunters!

I called 24 Petwatch and learned that the Fox Valley Humane Association implanted his microchip, so I called there for owner information. It turns out this cat was brought to them found as a stray, and turned over to Frosty's Fosters Animal Rescue, Inc.

I sent a message to Frosty's Foster, and though they didn't have record of the microchip number, they were able to provide me the owner's names and phone number from his previous name and photo!

I contacted the owner, Julia, and since she was out of town, was not aware that her Travieso was missing. Upon returning last night, she confirmed that he was lost, and she contacted the finder today to meet up and get him back home.

Julia said she is very happy to have him back, and will be registering the microchip right away.

Special thanks to you Benjamin, you really went out of your way to help get this cat home. You are wonderful!

Welcome home Travieso!
