Senior boy Louie was missing since 11/6!
Microchip Hunters and Lost Dogs Illinois helped Louie get home after he was brought to Chicago Animal Control, 11/29! The family was so happy to get this call, and Microchip Hunters will be registering the microchip with the family! The family needed help with Louie's reclaim fees, and of course Lost Dogs Illinois assisted, with your help. He is 12 years old and needed to be home where he is loved! Please donate if you can, so we can continue helping dogs like Louie get back home quickly! Missing 11/6/2023 Reunited 11/30/2023 Welcome home Louie!

Blaze's family lost him on a trip in Portland, Texas!
The microchip was registered but the phone number was not current. Microchip Hunter Amy W. was able to reach the sister by finding a current number for her "Hello, yes that's my brother. I'm glad you found him! You can contact him at this number XXXXXXX" His family was so happy to get this call! They traveled back from Austin, Texas to pick him up from Portland Texas Animal Care Services Thank you for sending to Microchiphelp.com so that Blaze could go home! Lost Dogs Illinois www.microchiphelp.com Microchip Hunters Bubba and Dino were both found on Saturday, and taken to the Chicago Police Department, then to Chicago Animal Care and Control on Saturday, 11/25. They were microchipped to the same owner, but the phone number wasn't current. Chicago Animal Care and Control sent this to Microchip Hunters, and volunteer Deb wasn't having any luck reaching the family through numbers or emails, but the Facebook profile was a company and that phone number produced results! Bubba and Dino's owner wanted to come get them right away, but it was already past closing time at CACC, so he had to wait until today! So happy for these two, we heard that Bubba was "just standing outside crying, looking for his owner." Welcome home, you are loved! What valuable work you do!"11/26/2023 "Thank you for finding his owners and making this all possible. What valuable work you do!"
Someone had reported a cat coming to a feeding station. They were able to scan for a microchip but the phone number wasn't current, so a rescue was reached and sent the information to Microchip Hunters. Microchip Hunter Deb took the case and was able to reach the family through Facebook Messenger. The family let her know this cat had shown up at their farm and visited on and off for a year. He finally let them pick him up and they took him for neutering and vaccines and released him back in his 'original' environment. He had been gone for 2 weeks or so. They said they 'would be happy to get him and bring him back.' Laurie from the rescue sent an updated email this morning, as they were hoping to get him into a home where he could be kept inside: "Very good news to report. The black kitty is named Lenny. The horse farm owner picked him up and one of her riding students family fell in love with him and are taking him into their home! Thank you for finding his owners and making this all possible. What valuable work you do!" We were happy to hear this wonderful update, thank you Laurie for helping Lenny! Welcome home Lenny!!! Enjoy the indoor life!!! Lost Dogs Illinois Microchip Hunters www.microchiphelp.com A Texas family found Deere as a stray and tried to find her family for a week! They posted to various groups and contacted the microchip company, but nobody contacted them. "In the mean time, she’s a great pup and we’re giving her tons of love. My young kids adore her."
They submitted to Microchip Hunters, who tried the number on file. It was not working, but a number for the mom of this owner was found after some searching, and she said she would reach her son! I got a text shortly after, "Hello, I heard you possibly found our dog?" I sent a photo, and they replied, "Yes, that's her!" It wasn't the person on the microchip! It turns out their roommate (the person on the microchip) took Deere to get chipped and vaccinated for them, and they didn't know how to check the chip or transfer the registration to them! Arrangements were made, and Deere went home. She was most happy to see her dog sibling! We heard that there would be a lot of talk at the home of the finder over Thanksgiving about getting a dog! We are so grateful for people who care for these missing dogs - thank you so much to Thomas and his family for all the love! Welcome home, Deere! Lost Dogs Illinois Microchip Hunters www.microchiphelp.com These are just some of the dogs Microchip Hunters recently helped get back to their families in the last couple of weeks! Thank you to all those that helped in these reunions!
It really is a privilege to be able to help others.
Jack was taken to the Chicago Police Station and then taken to Chicago Animal Control. His microchip was registered but the phone number was not working. Once CACC sent to Microchip Hunters, it was discovered that the owner was deceased, and it took some scouring of relatives but I was finally able to connect with both a sister and a mother through some found phone numbers. When the registered owner passed away over 4 years ago, Jack stayed with the son. Both the sister and mother were unable to find a working number for him, but after trying many numbers, I found some emails, and only one did not bounce back...that did the trick! Richard called me and got very emotional. He saw my email. He had tied Jack up to a fence for 10 minutes to go up to talk to a friend and when he came out the leash was cut. He told me he thought someone stole Jack, and he is everything to him. He said I 'saved his life.' Richard had contacted the vet that microchipped Jack to help get the chip information sorted out, but it wasn't updated yet. Richard is going through some very tough times; he didn't have any money to pay for the reclaim and had a bus pass to get to CACC but no ride back to where he stays currently since he would have Jack with him. We (Lost Dogs Illinois/Microchip Hunters) told Richard the fee would be paid by Lost Dogs Illinois (thanks to our fans), and that we could pay for an Uber and/or see if anyone could help transport after the reclaim. I told him Jack was safe. I reached out to some people, and quickly heard back from Michelle that her boyfriend Joel could pick Richard and Jack up and get them back to where they stay! It is so amazing that they were willing to help, no questions asked. Jack went home with Richard the next day, shortly after Chicago Animal Care and Control opened. He received his vaccinations there, but was already neutered, so the wait wasn't too long. " I got out of there around 2:00 and Joel was already there waiting for me. Thank you again for arranging the ride. Joel is a really nice guy and I really appreciate the ride. Jack was so excited when he saw me it made everything that was dark turn light. Thank you again." We are so happy to be able to help dogs and families stay together. "Thank you for everything you have done for us. In a time of crisis, it's hard to know if I'm making the right decisions or not, so having people like you in the world makes a big difference." It is a privilege to be able to help these families, and I feel so blessed to be able to be a small part of it. Thank you to everyone for their part in this reunion! Welcome home Jack, you have no idea how much you are loved. Lost Dogs Illinois Microchip Hunters www.microchiphelp.com Thanks Garrido Stray Rescue Foundation for requesting help from Microchip Hunters for a dog taken to the 16th district Police Station with an unregistered microchip! Thank you to Jordan for picking him up and reuniting him!
Thankfully, the store the dog was sold from (closed) had another location that was able to help provide information on who the dog belonged to, and their number hadn't changed since 2011! When I called, the owner answered, "You have Logan!" I had to laugh, she assumed what the call was for. She said she was waiting for a call. We will be making sure the microchip gets registered properly! His family thought it was already done! Welcome home Logan, you are loved. Lost Dogs Illinois Microchip Hunters www.microchiphelp.com "Hey, can I tell you two something really cool? Remember when I did that Zoom meeting because I volunteered with the nonprofit that tracks down people from microchips? Tonight, I finally got the courage to work my first case.
Pup is at a large city's shelter, (Chicago Animal Care and Control), and intake was yesterday. Contact info was out of date. The Microchip Hunter Admin provides some background info from various databases for you to work from after contacting the microchip company for owner information, and you also do research on the web on your own to find the owner. I tried the numbers listed for the owner, but they kept going to voicemails, so I left messages, and then texted them with the reason for my call. I blasted it to her number and a group of relatives found in the reports. Diesel lives with her ex-fiancé now, and was thought to have been stolen from the yard a while ago. She gave me his info, I called him! He said he had been missing for a while! Then I gave them all the info Microchip Hunters has about how to reclaim him and directions on how to update the contact info in the microchip registry. He went HOME! And that is why I want microchips in all our animals!" Happy Geri's first case was a success; Diesel and his family are happy too!!! Welcome home! Lost Dogs Illinois Microchip Hunters www.microchiphelp.com Thank you to Will County Animal Control for reaching out to Microchip Hunters for help finding owner information for this Corgi picked up by Braidwood Police Department! The microchip was not registered!
After some researching, Microchip Hunters was able to find and get owner information from the breeder in Indiana. Alicia answered the phone and didn't know Beautiful was lost. She had someone watching her while she was sick, and was very upset to get this news, but she and her husband went to pick Beautiful up minutes after receiving the call! She is now home with a registered microchip! Welcome home Beautiful!!! Lost Dogs Illinois Microchip Hunters www.microchiphelp.com |
