The found Poodle Mix from #Chicago #IL is home safe and sound! Thank you to the good samaritan Aime for bringing him in, and to Susan D., for sending the microchip information to Microchip Help. Chuy's microchip was not registered, and went back to Chicago Animal Care and Control, who provided owner information.
The phone number was from an adoption in 2015, and was no longer a working number. I was able to find a number for someone else at the same address, and sent them a text. The replied that they would let the family know to reach me! Both the husband and wife called me, and I texted them back with Aime's information to pick him up. They also received the microchip information to get him registered properly. Just in case, I will also provide CACC with their most current phone numbers. Aime said Chuy was happy to see them! Jericho was found in Manteno. The microchip went back to 2012 and the owner's number and address were no longer current. Animal control tried to connect with Heather but wasn't able, and the finder Deb was told about microchip hunters by her friend Dawn!
She submitted the chip number, and we went to work. It took a couple days, but I finally reached a family member who let Heather's mom know to contact her, and she shared my number. Heather called and told me she recently moved to the area, and 'Jerry' got out. Heather was happy to hear he was found nearby and was able to pick him up from the shelter he was taken to. We are happy to hear he is home; Heather told me he was a gift for her daughter 10 years ago! Thanks Deb for taking Jericho in and sending this to Microchip Help to help get him home. They have sent me a couple of messages today, with photos. They really appreciate all the effort. "He's made himself comfortable again" Welcome home sweet Kitty Lost Dogs Illinois Microchip Help Microchip Hunters Spikey went to stay at a friend's home in Chicago while his family was redoing their house and staying in hotel for a month. He must have gotten out and wound up at Chicago Animal Care and Control He was microchipped, but the phone number was an old number. Microchip Hunters went to work as soon as the chip number was sent to them.
I found a working number for a family member at the same address in Indianapolis, and Mary called back right away from my text. She was completely unaware that Spikey, their dog since 2014, was even lost. She messaged me that her husband would get to Chicago to pick him up, and I gave her the information to reclaim him and to update the microchip. "Thank you so much for contacting me" Thankfully Spikey had a microchip, he was already at animal control for 5 days, and who knows where he would have ended up. It broke my heart thinking of this. Welcome home sweet boy, you are loved Lost Dogs Illinois Microchip Help Microchip Hunters Chicago Animal Control sent Microchip Hunters the information for this senior Chocolate Lab. He is 13! It wasn't registered, and the owner information attached was outdated.
I was able to find a number for a family member, and she called me back right away to let me know that "Sosa" was given to their neighbor many years ago when he was young. I sent her a photo, and she confirmed it was him, and said she would look for Jennifer's phone number for me. She also told me that if they couldn't pick him up that they would go and get him. They visit Sosa from time to time. When I called Jennifer and asked if she was missing a dog named Sosa, she said OMG yes! Where was he? He has been gone for three weeks! I let her know how we received her information, and she had no idea that he was microchipped! She was so happy! I gave Jennifer the information to reclaim Sosa. Jennifer told me they had Sosa since he was a baby, and that her grandchildren were also missing him so much. Her 8 year old grandchild wanted to miss school today to go get him! Sosa went home today, and we will be helping make sure that his microchip gets registered to Jennifer, just in case! Welcome home Sosa, we knew somebody was missing you! We are so happy that you had a microchip to get you home! Lost Dogs Illinois Microchip Hunters Microchip Help Adam sent a message to us at #LostDogsIllinois regarding two found dogs in #Peoria. "Shannah was driving down 474 and found them going down the side of the interstate....she turned around and pulled up to them and they jumped into her van." Adam found a kind woman that came to scan the dogs for him. Only one of the dogs was chipped and he sent us the number. Microchip Hunters checked the chip number and it wasn't registered, so they reached out to Tazewell County Animal Control Illinois, who chipped "Maya," by messenger, and they replied right away! Wow, on a Sunday evening! When I called the number from the chip, the outgoing message was another name, so I researched and tried a couple numbers, and found an email for the owner. She called me right away from the email, and was so relieved! I gave her Adam's number, and they are on their way to pick them up! The other dog doesn't belong to this same owner, but both went missing from where Maya was staying. Maya's owner told me "they always stay together" and that the Riley is deaf.
Thanks to Shannah and Adam for all you did to get them home, to the lady that scanned Maya, and to Tazewell County for your quick reply and terrific records! Welcome home Maya and Riley! Maya's owner will be registering her microchip! |
