This sweetheart was picked up as a stray and taken to Chicago Animal Care and Control wearing a rabies tag from 2019. The tag wasn't in the system yet for Cook County, and they have limited hours so only the information CACC could get was the animal hospital that administered the rabies vaccine.
CACC tried to get a hold of the animal hospital; they too have limited hours currently, and were only open 11-1 two days a week. The animal hospital tried to reach the owner, but the voicemail was full and they didn't get any response. Microchip Hunters were contacted, and were finally able to reach someone at Cook County Animal Control. They had owner information, but unfortunately the number wasn't current. It was the same number the animal hospital was trying. Finally, I was able to reach the owner by private message. Her friend's son was supposed to be taking care of King, and she had no idea he was lost. It isn't the perfect situation for her to have King right now, but she doesn't want to lose him and loves him dearly. She made arrangements that day, and went to pick King up. He is now back home with his family who loves him. Thank you Chicago Animal Care and Control for giving King a few extra days on his stray hold to find his family because of the time constraints to get his owner's information. We are so grateful - it paid off! King's family would have never known where he ended up. He was searching for her for a couple of weeks, and very glad to hear she was coming home. Thanks to CACC for sending this to microchip help, and going the extra mile to get Tony home. She is loved. Lost Dogs Illinois Microchip Hunters Microchip Help After being found in #Chicago, an animal control officer brought this sweetheart to Chicago Animal Care and Control. They scanned and found a microchip but the two phone numbers connected to the owner didn't go through.
Microchip Hunters found the owner on the microchip through her facebook page, but she didn't own Benji, who was renamed Binky, anymore. She knows the current owner, heard Binky had gone missing and let the owner know right away that he was found. She gave us the information, and we let him know how to reclaim him during this time. Binky went home; his family was very anxious he was missing as he is getting older, and glad he was taken care of. Thank you to whoever found Binky, took him to their office, and called for him to be picked up! Welcome home Binky! You are loved! Lost Dogs Illinois Microchip Hunters Microchip Help |
