Princess was taken to Chicago Animal Care and Control (CACC) by a Good Samaritan. Her microchip was never registered, but PAWS Chicago was able to help by providing owner information from their chip implanted in 2013. The phone number Paws had on file was disconnected, so background searches were pulled up by Microchip Hunters (MH), and MH Laura began making calls to numbers found for this family. She was able to get a working number for the daughter who told her that her mom is in Mexico and that they are taking care of Princess. The daughter let her mom know to email CACC authorizing that she picks her up, and she went the next day to get Princess. She didn't have the money/funds for the reclaim, so Lost Dogs Illinois paid the fee. Welcome home Princess, you are loved! Lost Dogs Illinois Microchip Hunters www.microchiphelp.com

Thank you Leslie County Animal Shelter for sending Microchip Hunters Princess's microchip information! Princess came into them as a stray on 6/7/2023 and they learned about Microchip Hunters a couple of weeks later!
Princess's microchip was never registered but Roanoke Valley SPCA was listed as the implant facility and they were able to provide information for the adopter from 2/2019. Thank you! After pulling up background information for the owner and family, our Microchip Hunter Liz went to work trying to get a hold of someone. After numerous calls, texts, emails and facebook messages to family and friends, there were no replies. Two days went by, and a brother in law called Liz! He said this is the family dog, and though the brother in law lives in Kentucky where she was found, they live in New York. They had no idea she was missing, and he asked how long she was at the shelter. She had been there three weeks at this point. He said he would pick her up, and made arrangements as it would be a couple more weeks for them to be able to get from New York to Kentucky! Princess is home, and instructions for registering the microchip were provided! A back home photo is below, and we are so grateful to all that helped Princess get back to her family!!! Found 6/7/2023 Reunited 7/18/2023 Welcome back home to family Princess, you are loved!!! Princess is 5 1/2 years old and didn't need a new home... Lost Dogs Illinois Microchip Hunters www.microchiphelp.com Microchip Hunters (MH) received this case from Chicago Animal Care and Control (CACC) because the number on the microchip was not current! The microchip registration was from 2011.
MH Deb was able to find a current phone number and the family called they said, "His name is Oliver. He has been missing for a while. Some other people had found him and while they were making arrangements to pick him up, he ran away again." They were looking for him. Oliver was picked up from CACC right away, and is now home with his family. Oliver is 13 years old and didn't need a new home! He is loved!!! Information to update the microchip was provided to the family Lost Dogs Illinois Microchip Hunters www.microchiphelp.com Microchip Hunters received this microchip case from Chicago Animal Control because the microchip number was an older one (14 years old) and the two possible chip companies were unable to locate information.
Microchip Hunters (MH) called the chip companies as well, and learned that Hurley had been found once before, in Naperville and was taken to animal control there. The microchip was never registered or updated then. I (MH) called Naperville animal control, and gave them the microchip number and date last found. Naperville AC was able to find who the dog was reclaimed to and provide me information to reach Tiffany after they called an heard they were looking for Hurley! Hurley was with the son in Chicago, and he went missing on the 4th of July, like many other dogs! Her son was devastated! Tiffany was so happy to hear he was safe and said this was her mother's dog who is 14 years old (her mother has passed away). Tiffany went to pick Hurley up the next day, and I registered the microchip with her. A tag was also ordered for his collar with a current phone number! Welcome home Hurley, you are loved!!! Lost Dogs Illinois Microchip Hunters www.microchiphelp.com Thank goodness Paris was found and picked up by Animal Control Officer Pam at the Belt railyard on the 4th of July! She was microchipped, but the information was outdated, including her name, so she was taken to Paws Tinley Park. Genny, a volunteer with Paws Tinley Park messaged Jeanette from Microchip Hunters, who researched this owner and found a current phone number for her. She called back, and said they had a fire at their home and Paris ran off. They are staying at a hotel. She was so thankful, she said they live near the railroad tracks and was so worried about her! She is ten and they had her since she was a puppy. So glad this teamwork got this girl back home!!! You are loved Paris!!!
