Fiona's microchip information was sent in to microchip help from Chicago Animal Control when the number was disconnected, Microchip Hunter Katie said 'OMG I know her, she was a friend. She passed away last year and her daughter took her dogs in." Katie called the daughter and she went the next day to pick Fiona up. She said their other dog Mila also went missing - both were missing since this winter around February. Mila hasn't been found yet. Fiona is home, we will be posting Mila to LDI shortly! Son was found not far from home, and taken to Chicago Animal Control. The phone number on the microchip was disconnected, but Microchip Hunters went to work trying to help reach his family. Relatives were contacted, but the owner had gotten a new phone and nobody could reach him. He finally called, and said he is a senior citizen. He wanted to go pick Son up right away, but didn't have the money on hand. Lost Dogs Illinois paid Son's reclaim fee, and he is now neutered and back home where he was loved since a small puppy.

Max's family was out of town when Max was let out in the yard with his 7 year old Golden Retriever sibling. In the blink of an eye he went missing. Max is 15 years old, and blind, so couldn't have gotten too far. Thankfully he was picked up safely and taken to Chicago Animal Care and Control where he was scanned for a microchip that led to owners in Michigan, both names and numbers were outdated and led to a dead end. CACC sent this over to www.microchiphelp.com and after pulling up some background searches, Microchip Hunter Bev began attempts to reach these two owners on file. The searches still showed they resided in Michigan. After leaving voicemails, texts and emails explaining why she was reaching out to what appeared to be current numbers, a phone call from Chicago came in to Bev. Kevin received a message that Max was found, and wanted to know how to pick him up. He said Max was rehomed to him 15 years ago. Because the microchip was never transferred over to Kevin, the owners from the microchip had to email CACC authorizing him to be able to pick Max up. They called CACC but never emailed. Luckily, Kevin also found the paperwork from these original owners when he took Max in! "Thank you and Bev so much for everything you have done to help us find Max and get him home." Max is home, thank goodness! Missing 6/23/2022 Reunited 6/25/2022 Welcome home precious boy. Sheba's microchip was still registered to her previous family, who contacted her new family! They both went to pick her up! It is now updated! Skyla's microchip was not registered and the animal hospital that mmicrochipped her had an outdated phone number. I was able to reach the family who had rehomed her because of housing arrangements, but he was able to get a friend to keep her until he gets in a place that he can keep her. She is being very loved. Delilah's family went to pick her up as soon as they heard she was there. A good samaritan had brought her to CACC. The daughter was able to pick her up! Welcome home to you three! Lost Dogs Illinois Microchip Hunters www.microchiphelp.com Remy was found, and taken to Chicago Animal Care and Control. Microchip Hunter Liz did some digging and found Remy's family on facebook. Though they are now in South Dakota they had been looking for Remy, and said that Remy grew up with their daughter. She said someone else will be picking Remy up for them, and emailed CACC to give authorization. Remy was picked up, and we are so happy Chicago Animal Care and Control sent this to us to help her get home to her family. Remy is 13 years old, and didn't need a new home. Welcome home Remy! Heather received a facebook message from our microchip hunter Liz, after Chicago Animal Care and Control couldn't reach her from the microchip. The unregistered microchip backtracked to a rescue that had the information for Heather, but it wasn't current. Heather replied that she adopted the cat out as a kitten and wasn't in contact with the person she adopted her out to. This cat was left at CACC's door 12 years later, and Heather said she would pick the cat up. She was also under vet care. Liz said Heather "has a good heart." She didn't want to leave her at animal control, and she went the next day to pick her up, cone and all. She said the cat is safe with her. Lost Dogs Illinois Microchip Hunters www.microchiphelp.com This girl's name is Jenny, "like Jennifer Lopez." She was brought to Chicago Animal Control on 5/31/2022 wearing a rabies tag from 2019. Chicago Animal Control waited for owner information from Cook County and then sent it to Microchip Hunters. I was able to speak to a family that lives in the same home as Jenny's owner. Elvis said that the owner is a truck driver and they watch Jenny when he is away. They said that Jenny is 16 years old, and that her family loves her so much. They had her out in the backyard and left for a minute when Jenny must have drifted into the alley and was picked up right away. Jenny's owner uses this family's phone number for all her paperwork, since he is on the road a lot. Elvis said he will go pick her up 'tomorrow,' and he did. Microchip Hunter Volunteer Lisa, from Wisconsin, worked on reaching the family.
