Spikey went to stay at a friend's home in Chicago while his family was redoing their house and staying in hotel for a month. He must have gotten out and wound up at Chicago Animal Care and Control He was microchipped, but the phone number was an old number. Microchip Hunters went to work as soon as the chip number was sent to them.

I found a working number for a family member at the same address in Indianapolis, and Mary called back right away from my text. She was completely unaware that Spikey, their dog since 2014, was even lost. She messaged me that her husband would get to Chicago to pick him up, and I gave her the information to reclaim him and to update the microchip.

"Thank you so much for contacting me" Thankfully Spikey had a microchip, he was already at animal control for 5 days, and who knows where he would have ended up. It broke my heart thinking of this.
