I too, was unable to reach the registered owner, so began searching for family members. I left voicemail messages with a few numbers, followed by texts the following day. Two days later, I heard back from a family member who told me he was actually the owner and could not take Izzy back. So, sadly, I marked the case closed.
Much to my surprise, another two days later, I received a text asking for Izzy's ID number again, followed by a phone call from the owner (this time the name on the microchip) saying he was going to pick her up tomorrow! His phone number was off by one digit!
I just received this photo from the owner, of Izzy back at home. He said, "She's so happy! She's already pooped out we played so much!" Welcome home beautiful girl; this made the day of all of us volunteers at MicrochipHuntersIL.
