Chicago Animal Care and Control tried calling Wrigley's owner, from the microchip, but the phone number was disconnected, so they sent it to Microchip Hunters for help. I took the case, and after researching, called some numbers that were associated with the owner's name. I finally got an answer from one of them.
It was Amanda, the girlfriend of the owner registered to Wrigley. She was astounded! Wrigley had gone missing from East Chicago, Indiana a year ago! She couldn't believe Wrigley was found, and in Chicago! The couple just moved and live 2 hours away from CACC, but were overjoyed! Amanda said, I will come get him on Saturday. Greg is out of town, but I will get there. "That really made my night." Amanda told me they "left the basement open, the windows, everything, just hoping he would pop up." Wrigley is now adjusting to the couple's new home and getting back to normal with his family. Amanda said, "he was a 'special' cat from the beginning, and I just knew he was the one and we had to get him regardless of his bad attitude. I'm so happy he is back home!" Welcome home Wrigley - you really were missed. I am so happy I was able to be a part of this wonderful reunion!
