Momma’s 24 Petwatch microchip was never registered. Chicago Animal Care and Control sent this to us at Microchip Help after also contacting the implant facility, VCA Forest Park Animal Hospital, and getting two disconnected numbers for the owner from 2012.
We began researching the owner information, but sadly she had passed away years ago. Thankfully, there was a long list of relatives to try! I began calling relatives but wasn’t hearing back from anyone, so tried Marie on Facebook messenger. I also commented on a post of hers with a picture of Momma asking if she recognized this found girl. Marie commented back! She said that Momma was her mom’s dog before she passed away. Before I knew it, several relatives shared in the conversation! They all recognized Momma! She was given to a granddaughter, Mary, and cousin Sherice called Mary to let her know and to help get her home. Mary said she had been missing a couple of months. Momma is a lucky girl. She was able to stay in the family. Sounds like this family sticks together and helps each other. We love helping these reunions happen.
