Chica was taken to Chicago Animal Control, and had a microchip that was unregistered. Chicago Animal Control contacted Paws, the implant facility, for Chica's microchip, and got owner information. The microchip was implanted 9 years ago, and the phone number was disconnected. The microchip was sent to microchip help to research.
Microchip Hunters called Paws to see if there was any additional information for the owner, Blanca. Paws didn't find anything more from that microchip, but microchip hunters asked if they had any more information listed for Blanca. They looked up her name, and found a dog named Zeus that had been there in 2019. The phone number for Blanca was different than that on the microchip for Chica. I called that number, and Blanca answered the phone. When I asked if she was missing a dog named Chica, I could tell her heart sank. I told her she was safe and at animal control. Blanca told me that Chica is her sister's dog, that she took to Paws 9 years ago to be spayed and microchipped. She didn't realize the chip was never registered, and that Paws had old information for her. Blanca's sister was staying with them. She told me, "my sister left to go out of the country, and Chica left too." She didn't know how to find her, they looked all over. She told me she never thought of checking with animal control, and didn't know where it was. Not everyone knows to check there! I gave Blanca the email for animal control, and they contacted her this afternoon to get Chica picked up. The family is so so happy she is home, and will be registering the microchip right away. This tiny tiny girl was ready to go home, she had been at CACC for 5 days. Found 11/16/2020 Reunited 11/20/2020 Welcome home Chica!!! Lost Dogs Illinois Microchip Help Microchip Hunters

Tiger went home yesterday from #OakForestAnimalControl. They had posted him as found with a microchip that had a disconnected phone number, and sent it to microchiphelp.com for help! Thank you!!!
I was able to find an email that belonged to Whitney, and she emailed me back, "I’ve been looking for days! I will contact you first thing in the morning!" And that is what she did. I let Whitney know where Tiger was, and shared her contact information with Oak Forest Animal Control, Tiger is back with his family...and Whitney will add her correct information to his microchip. Happy family...welcome home Tiger. Home at Last!
This old girl is Diamond, and she was found in #Chicago #IL near Jake's work on Monday. He took her to get scanned, and Avid tried to contact the owner. Jake took her home, registered with Lost Dogs Illinois and posted to some neighborhood pages while waiting for a call. The information for the owner was from 2007. Microchip Hunters was tagged on a post about the microchip, thank you Susan D., and Microchip Hunters were able to reach the owner through relatives. "My daughter and my cousin both called to tell me someone found Diamond." Bernadette was so happy - Diamond was the last of their three senior dogs, and they were worried sick. Though Diamond was found about a 1/2 mile from home, Jake didn't live nearby, so Diamond came back to work with him yesterday, and went home to her family. Thank you Jake!!! *Bernadette will be updating her information with Avid* Lost Dogs Illinois Microchip Hunters Gucci was at Chicago Animal Control since November 4th, and the phone numbers to his registered microchip were not working.
Microchip Hunters were able to get a different phone number for this same original owner listed on the microchip by contacting the Wisconsin Humane Society, where Gucci was adopted in 2017. This phone number was current, and though the owner rehomed Gucci to a family member, this original owner was unaware that he was missing. They made arrangements to pick Gucci up today. Thank you CACC for holding Gucci a couple of extra days past his stray hold so his family could get here from Milwaukee. They really appreciated it.
