Bobby has an Avid microchip that the owner registered through PetKey. Chicago Animal Care and Control needed help from Microchip Hunters to find his family.
Petkey provided me the owner information, and I was sure it would be difficult to find the owner because it came up with a Round Lake Beach address. This is a long way from Chicago Animal Care and Control. I was able to reach the owner, Omar, by text in Engish and Spanish, through google translate. Good thing, because Omar spoke only Spanish. Through google translate, Omar told me: "We went to visit my cousin at his house and we did not realize when he left the garden and we looked for him and we did not find him." He does live in Round Lake Beach, but his cousin lives in Chicago. Omar asked how much it would cost to reclaim Bobby, and told me he didn't have enough money right now to pay for his cousin to pick Bobby up for him, so Lost Dogs Illinois helped with the redemption fee. Omar sent all the paperwork to CACC by email so that his cousin could pick him up. He didn't want him to stay overnight another night at CACC, and neither did we. Bobby is with Omar's cousin and will be back home to him soon. He is very very happy to know Bobby is ok and with family. Welcome home soon Bobby! ~Jeanette Lost Dogs Illinois Microchip Hunters
