Thank you Liliana, for sending the microchip information to microchip help so we can find Peaches' family!
Liliana saw a post for a dog that was 'found a month ago, and needing a home' She wanted to be sure that this dog didn't have a family, and offered to take in the dog so she could research further. She got her rescanned and sent the microchip number to us at microchip help.
I was able to see a recent update on the microchip from May. I reached out to the owner on file, and Desiree called me immediately! Of course, she was crying happy tears, and told me, "I haven't seen Peaches in 4 years. She got away from my boyfriend then, and I haven't stopped looking for her." She said she had been praying and waiting to hear this news. I gave her Liliana's number but because it was late, told her she may not answer, but that Peaches was safe in a home.
Desiree also told me that she got a call a while back from a vet that Peaches was found. She was then told that the she got away from the finder, and they no longer had Peaches.
Desiree had Peaches for 4 years before she went missing!
I sent an email and text to Liliana last night to give her this news that Desiree would be calling her! She called me this morning, so happy, and let me know she was coming at 9. I told her to make sure to get a video!
'Peaches was so happy to see Desiree and her younger sister 💗 Peaches was so thankful and was jumpy and gave me so many kisses a reaction I had not seen from her before. This girl has many years left in her. I’m just happy she is back home after such a long time. To think she was only a few blocks away from her home this whole time.'
From Desiree: "OMG Thats right by me!!!! Thank you so much 🙏 God bless you!!!! Im so thankful ! Thank you for your help!"
Welcome home Peaches, Missing 2016; Reunited 2020
***We can't stress the value of microchips, keeping them updated gets your dogs home!*** Lost Dogs Illinois will be sending Peaches an ID tag for her collar
