24 Petwatch gave me owner information for this adorable Chihuahua named Stella, after Chicago Animal Care and Control (CACC) hit a dead end phone number and sent this to us at Microchip Help.

Jacob, Microchip Hunter volunteer, took the case, and was able to find the son of the registered owner. This son explained that his mother is in nursing care, and that his brother Tom owns Stella now. He gave Jacob the phone number to contact his brother Tom.

Jacob spoke with Tom, the son that took in Stella, and he was delighted to hear his Stella was safe, but was unable to get to CACC and unable to pay to reclaim his little girl. He is going through a tough time. He said CACC was 88 blocks from home and he currently had no working transportation. Jacob let me know what was going on.

I contacted CACC and let them know Tom needed help getting Stella back to him, and that Lost Dogs Illinois was able to pay the reclaim fee for Stella. CACC let me know they would also help transport her home; and Stella is now back home with her owner who loves her so very much.

Thank you Jacob for working this case and finding Stella's owner, thank you CACC for delivering Stella back to Tom, and thank you to everyone that donates to Lost Dogs Illinois so we can help with reclaim fees when families need it. We all need a little help sometime.

Welcome home Stella! Tom loves you so much and needed you back.
