Thank you to all who posted about this little dog roaming for two weeks, and to all that helped keep her fed and safe. Special thanks to Tati Marie for your help getting her and taking her to the 25th district police station for a family to find her.
Microchip Hunters (Lost Dogs Illinois) reached out to the station and received the microchip number. It was unregistered, but Paws Chicago was able to provide owner information. Thank you! Sadly, Microchip Hunters, through research, found that the owner had passed away recently, so started reaching out to relatives as the number on file from 2015 was not current. It was found that the daughter rehomed Bonita, and didn't know she was missing. She can't keep her in the apartment she is in, but has another friend that would love to have her, so she is on her way to pick Bonita up! She never heard from the people she had given her to. Bonita will be happy to see her, she has not been very happy these last couple of weeks and is very scared. We are told she was a nice and calm dog... We are glad to hear that she will be going to a friend who she knows well. Thank you again to the community for caring about these animals and doing something to help!!! You are very appreciated!!!
