This senior dog was found and taken to Chicago Animal Control with a rabies tag from 2018. Cook County Animal Control was contacted but the paperwork wasn't on file with them. They supplied Chicago Animal Control with the name of the vet that they sold the tag to. Unfortunately, due to COVID, this vet is only open Thursday - Saturday, and Thursday happened to be a holiday.
Finally, five days later, on Friday, the animal hospital gave Chicago Animal Control the owner's information, however the phone number belonged to someone else, so they sent it to microchip help! After doing some research, a number was found that was just one digit off! I sent a text with a photo of the found dog, and received a call within minutes. This gentleman was just so very happy to hear the news. "Duke disappeared, but his brother was still in the yard," so he thought someone stole Duke! Albert doesn't have email, so I let him know that someone would be calling from animal control and to be expecting this call. CACC called Albert to set up a time to pick Duke up the next day. He is home. Albert said he will work on fattening him back up - he had lost some weight. Found 11/22/2020 Reunited 11/28/2020 Welcome home Duke! Lost Dogs Illinois Microchip Hunters Microchip Help
