Thank you to Real Estate to the Rescue of Homeless Animals Chicago for partnering with Microchip Help and Lost Dogs Illinois to help those in need pay reclaim fees to get their pets home!

Today, Chicago Animal Care and Control sent Microchip Help a stray dog that came in yesterday. They weren't able to reach them by phone.

I received a reply to my text asking if the owner was missing their dog Holly, and when he said yes, I called right away. He spoke to me and asked about the reclaim fees a couple of times, but asked if anyone spoke Spanish. I told him I would see if I could have one of our Spanish speaking Lost Dogs Illinois volunteers call him, but in the meantime texted him the information on reclaiming Holly in Spanish.

I gave Cristal all the information, and she called and spoke to the owner. He explained that he has two dogs there, and just got laid off. Both Cristal and I could tell money was going to be an issue, but he was sincere in hoping to pick them up. She let him know that we could help with the reclaim fees.

CACC spoke to the wife, and made arrangements with them about pickup - both beauties, Holly and Ronda, are already back home! They were ready to pick them up, just needed the help.
