"I'm pretty excited"
Microchip Hunters received a private message from a finder of a cat in Indiana, along with a form submission to microchiphelp.com. "The vet told us it was unregistered and there was no other information attached." It turns out the microchip submitted had one too many extra letters and numbers. Microchip Hunters started trying a few combinations while waiting for the cat to be rescanned tomorrow by the finder. After seeing registrations for a Husky and a Rottweiler, the third try was a charm. It was a black and beige cat in the same city! I called the owner, and he said his cat went missing two weeks ago, and he was waiting for this call. He looked everywhere for him. He said one minute he was sniffing the 'flowers' and the next he was gone! He was devastated and said it is just "him and me. I'm pretty excited. He is 8 years old" He asked that I give the finder his number. Jeffrey, the finder, messaged me "We're taking him over now! Thanks so much for your help. You do incredible work." So happy they decided to give Microchip Hunters a try, and that they cared enough about this cat to make sure the microchip was truly a dead end. What a wonderful thing you did for this cat and his family! Thank you Adam and Jeffrey! Would this cat have gotten home if he wasn't microchipped??? Glad we didn't need to find out!
