Walton County GA Animal Control took in Isabel, found as a stray in Monroe, Georgia. Her microchip was registered to owners in Atlantic Beach, Florida, but both phone numbers were disconnected.
We were so happy they sent this to Microchip Hunters for help! I was able to do some research on-line and found a number for a grandson, who put his grandmother on the other line with me. She told me she couldn't keep the two little dogs but had three others she was able to take with her when she moved. She said she rehomed them, and had been called once before, years ago also for Isabel. She didn't know who the owners were. I asked where she took them and she told me the 'dog pound' in Jacksonville! I sent an email to the Jacksonville Animal Control, and they were able to find the adopter information from 2013, but when I tried the phone number, it also was dead-end. He lived in Jacksonville. I went back to researching and found a relative for the adopter, who lived in Georgia! I was excited to see that! Christine answered, and right away asked where "Bella" was. She said her brother changes numbers often but lives close to where she was found. She hadn't spoken to him in a few weeks, but after given the information, she went as soon as they opened Monday to pick her up. After all, she is family. Welcome home Bella - thank you to Walton Animal Control for sending this to us, and to sister Christine, for helping her brother! Christine was given the information to get the microchip changed over! Back home photo in comments!
