Chicago Animal Care and Control sent this registered microchip information over to Microchip Hunters when the phone number was not in service. The registration was from another state!
Microchip Hunters was having trouble finding background information for this family, so decided to call the facility that microchipped this dog, in case they had additional information. They did, and the number was good! Niño's family answered the phone, and only spoke Spanish. I used what little Spanish I knew to explain the call, and suddenly heard tears of joy and happiness in his words! That sound is universal to all languages. It brought tears to my eyes too! I told him his dog was ok, and that I would be texting him! We communicated through translate and was told that he had another 'little' dog. He was hoping she was also at CACC but she was not microchipped. Within minutes, he was in the car and heading to animal control. CACC told me another dog was with this dog when they were brought in! Niño y Niña's family signed for both dogs to be neutered and spayed and were picked up today! He told me he brought them with him from Venezuela. "I've been crying since Wednesday, you can't even imagine how much I love them." Welcome home Niño y Niña, you are loved. Back home photo below! We will be helping update Nino's microchip too!
