"Jessie" the cat ended up in Chicago, but was registered to an owner in Evansville, IN. The phone number was disconnected, and #MicrochipHunterand #LostDogsIllinois volunteer Jeanette was able to find a current phone number for her after Chicago Animal Care and Control hit a dead end. The owner was shocked to hear that Jessie was in Chicago at a shelter, as she hadn't owned her for years, but told Jeanette she would get back to her the next day.
Sure enough, the owner had contacted the Vanderburgh Humane Society, Inc. where Jessie was last, and they in turn contacted Felines & Canines as "Jessie" was rescued by them in Chicago. Felines and Canines was able to contact the current owner, and Jessie, who was renamed to Miss Lady, went home the very same day! Miss Lady's microchip information is now up to date! Thank you to everyone that worked to get Miss Lady back to her family. This was a happy ending for all!
