If your dog is missing, please be proactive in the search, even if they are microchipped and registered to you properly! This sweet girl had a microchip that was missed. She went to a foster home some time after her stray hold ended. The rescue that pulled her contacted Microchip Hunters when they found a microchip! The phone numbers and email from the microchip information were not current and they wanted to make sure nobody was looking for her. I was able to reach the family, It had been months and they thought she was stolen. They won't be able to take her back, but she is in a wonderful foster home and has potential adopters! Microchips do work, but, please be proactive in the search for your missing dog, even if they are microchipped and registered to you properly! A finder may not know to take the dog to be scanned for a microchip, the microchip can be missed (they can also migrate making it harder to find), the facility/person checking the registration may not be able to find who the microchip is registered to correctly, people write the microchip number down or enter it incorrectly, etc. Mistakes happen! Making sure your dog is microchipped and properly registered to you is important, but please keep checking with police and animal control facilites and keep spreading the word to all and on social media, and get flyers out in the area! Be sure your dog wears an ID tag on the collar too!!! Good luck Maizie! You are adorable! Lost Dogs Illinois Microchip Hunters www.microchiphelp.com
