Home at Last! Mr. Ross, the Rat Terrier got out of his yard when the landscapers left the gate open. His family looked everywhere for him with no luck. He was found by a good samaritan, but got loose from them, and then found again by another good samaritan! Thank you Tyler, for taking Mr. Ross in and sending Microchip Hunters the unregistered microchip number!
The microchip number backtracked to Chicago Animal Care and Control, who provided owner information but the phone number was disconnected. I hadn't heard back all day after leaving messages to a working number I found for the family, The outgoing message stated the correct name. I let Tyler know and he was happy to hold on to Ross for a few days. Since the microchip was from 2013 I wasn't sure the family still owned the dog, but I did some more searching and reached the son. He said he would leave a message for his mom, and that yes she was missing him, he had gotten out the day before. I was happy to hear this and let Tyler know. I heard from Mr. Ross' family late evening - she was working all day and had just gotten the messages. She said her family was really missing him and worried - "he has been part of our family for so many years." Found 7/1/2022 Reunited 7/3/2022 Welcome home Mr. Ross, you are family...
