Yesterday the #MicrochipHuntersIL group received quite a few research requests, so I decided I would help out. The information that we received was not current, at least the phone number and address were not. So I called the phone number and texted it. A few minutes later, I received a text back saying the owner had moved out a year ago and she had NO forwarding information. SHOOT! Meanwhile I did email the owner using the email address listed, thinking this is probably a dead end too. So I asked Jeanette, LDI volunteer and microchip hunter, what the next step is. We used a website to search the owner. We came up with the same address but different phone numbers. So off to calling and texting the numbers.
All of sudden I got a response to the email from the owner: “I am on the way to reclaim her !!!!!! Thank you soooo much” Woot Woot – I found the owner!!! What a great feeling! AND later the owner emailed me back saying she has updated the chip information! The Microchip Hunters IL did it again! Made room at #ChicagoAnimalCareandControl for a truly homeless animal because Zena did not need a new home; she just needed to go home. #LostDogsIllinois #Keepingfamiliestogether#Keepyourmicrochipregistrationuptodate Susan – LDI Director/Volunteer ***Petharbor photo***
