Chelsea was recently found as a stray in Indianapolis. She was found matted and in need of grooming The finder couldn't take her in, but a friend could, and did! Chelsea "fit in perfectly" with their family, but they knew she must belong to someone. They put flyers out in the area, and after a few days with no calls, were referred to microchip help from a facebook group they posted Chelsea found on, and sent us the microchip information!
Chelsea's microchip information was registered, but from 2011. They lived in Indianapolis. It took a few days and a lot of research, but microchip hunters were able to find a phone number for the owner's mom. She said, "my daughter had a dog years ago that went missing, let me call her." The daughter called me back immediately while at work! Chelsea went missing as a pup, shortly after her microchip was put in. She went missing from their yard, and her family searched, put flyers out, but never heard anything more. It has been 9 years. What a wonderful surprise for them to get this call, I could hear the happiness in the Jocelyn's voice. She still has pictures of Chelsea as a puppy, and was able to find her microchip number, and of course, it was a match! Jocelyn's mom went to pick her up right away while she was at work, and brought her to see her quickly before bringing her home with her until Jocelyn got home. She said Chelsea laid her head on her right away. Thank you Sara, for reaching out to us for help. Joycelyn is so happy to have her girl back home. They will be updating the microchip to be sure if she ever goes missing, they will get a call right away! Welcome home Chelsea, it has been a long time!!!
