Princess was found as a stray, and David took her in, had her microchip scanned, and contacted Homeagain. Homeagain tried to contact the registered owner, but wasn't able to reach them.
David knew this girl must belong to someone, and he posted on multiple social media sites, where he was asked to submit the microchip information to microchip help. Though not officially submitted to microchiphelp.com, the microchip information made its way there, and microchip hunters were able to get in contact with the registered owner Rebecca by facebook messenger, after much digging. The facebook name wasn't exactly the same as the registered name on the chip. When I contacted Rebecca, she told me she hadn't seen Princess since 2017, when her and her ex Dan split up. Dan kept the dogs. She said "Miss that girl SO much." She sent me photos of both Princess and Roxy as puppies and adults, with her family. She told me she heard her ex had to rehome both dogs recently last she heard, but gave me his email address and started reaching out to people as well. She didn't have a current number for him. Rebecca asked me to let her know what happens. Just after messaging with Rebecca, the father called me from one of my messages, and gave me a current phone number for Dan. It was late so I emailed, but called and sent a text in the morning. I received a text saying, "Hello. I'm Phil I'm contacting about Princess. I received news that she was found ? Is she okay ? sigh I'm glad she's okay and where is she now ?! " I asked that he call me, and he said sure, please give me a few minutes. I was confused who Phil was, as I texted Dan! A call came in...it was from an interpreter service. She told me "Phil is deaf and I am interpreting for him." We talked about Princess, and Phil through the interpreter told me he is out of town, and had a dog walker watching Princess. He had been trying to reach this dog walker for days to see how Princess was doing, and wasn't getting any replies. "Now I know why," he said. Phil had no idea Princess was lost, and was so glad that David found her and was taking care of her all this time. David had her for 6 days. I gave Phil the phone number for David, and let David know that an interpreter would be calling for Phil to make arrangements to pick her up. I messaged Rebecca to let her know Phil contacted me. I mentioned that he was deaf, and she told me she and Dan are too, so that made sense to her! When I let David know, he said, "Wow, I did notice she understands more to hand commands!" David let me know that he heard from Phil, and told me "she lives near where I found her." I heard back from Dan too, through text. He told me the story about having to rehome both dogs in July until he gets into an apartment that allows dogs when his lease is up in 8 months. He split the dogs up to make it easier for the caretakers. He plans to get Roxy back when he gets his new apartment, but he said that Phil loves Princess so much, and that she loves Phil so much, that he doesn't have the heart to take her away from him. He misses Princess too, but see Roxy often. He sent me many photos of the two dogs. It was so sweet to see how many people love and care about these girls. I got this message from David late last night, "Princess is reunited with her owner Phil, thank you much!" He said they were both soo happy to see each other. David said Princess kept looking back to him too; I'm sure she is so grateful for all the love she got. David said he was at the point where he was going to keep her if no one claimed her. Princess made her way into his heart, and it was hard to let her go. David, thank you so much for everything; taking her in and caring for her, sharing to facebook pages, getting her scanned for a chip, sending chip information for help, and also for your refreshing, non-judgemental mentality about Princess and her owner. This helped get Princess home. It would have been easy to assume her family wasn't looking for her since nobody was responding to any found posts. Princess made her way into the hearts of many, and is one very loved girl Phil texted that she is very happy to be home, and said "she is grateful for reuniting us."
