A beautiful black Lab Mix was found and taken to the 16th district police station in #Chicago #IL. He was wearing rables tags from 1992, an ID tag with the name Shadow, and a tag with the owner's name and outdated phone number. This cutie was also microchipped to a different name, Brody, and two owner names from Tennessee with Tennessee phone numbers. The 16th District Chicago Police Department sent this to microchip hunters for help, as they weren't having any luck reaching an owner. After researching, I was able to leave a message for a relative, who contacted a relative! Turns out, the family was using Shadow's collar with tags from almost 30 years ago! Never revealing Brody's name from the microchip, I received a call from Ryan. He said, "I think you found our dog Brody." He was adopted a couple years ago but the microchip wasn't changed to their name yet. As soon as I gave them the information to where he was, they were in the car and over to the district right away! Brody went home, and will be getting his microchip information updated by his family right away! Ryan texted me a photo of Brody getting picked up! They are very thankful! His sister in law said, " I thought Shadow came back to us" "Thanks Jeanette and CPD! Reunited with Brody!" Lost Dogs Illinois Microchip Help
