Thank goodness Keelo went home

Microchip Hunters received a message from the 25th District regarding a white Pitbull they had taken in as found. He had a 2021 rabies tag, and he was transferred to Chicago Animal Control.

Chicago Animal Control needed help tracking this rabies tag, so they also sent it to Microchip Hunters.

Microchip Hunters was able to reach the family that the tag was linked to, but they had rehomed Keelo nearly 2 years ago. They did however contact the family they rehomed him to, and I got a call back from them. Keelo's family told me he is deaf, and the neighbors left the gate open on Christmas Day.

Keelo's family went to Chicago Animal Control. It was the day after the hold was up by the time the case was received, information was provided from the animal hospital because of the long holiday weekend, etc., but they were able to claim him, get him neutered and chipped, and pick him up the next day!
