 Kevin, the Shetland Sheepdog taken to Chicago Animal Care and Control had a microchip, but the phone number wasn't working so the information was sent to microchiphelp.com.
Microchip Hunters was able to get a current email address and the owners called right away. They were out of the country, and someone was caring for Kevin when he went missing. They let animal control know they would be back in town the next day, and would be picking him up. They were so happy he was found - they owned Kevin since he was a puppy, over a year now.
