There is a twist! 'Glitter' is 'Envy'
Chicago Animal Care and Control (CACC) sent this microchip to Microchip Hunters when they didn't hear back from the owner on file for this dog. Her name was listed as Glitter. Microchip Hunters reached out and was able to connect with the most recent owner on file (There were 2 registrations with 2 chip companies and 2 owners). Glitter's owner, however, said that she took off after a car just a few months after he adopted her and couldn't find her. He now lives in a high-rise that doesn't allow dogs. We asked that he surrender the dog to animal control, and after talking further, learned she was adopted from another shelter. We let this shelter know in case they wanted to pick her up, and also let CACC know where she came from. The shelter picked her up the next day. She had already been at CACC for 6 days. During this transition time, Microchip Hunters thought it would be a good idea to reach out to the original owner as we usually do, just in case, and we are glad we did! Her number was not current, but a current number was found, and her dog Envy had been missing for several months!!! Envy had been transferred in previously from yet another shelter. We are not sure why Envy wasn't originally reunited before she was transferred and then adopted out, but we are glad she was found again, and now back with her original family where she was missed! Thank you Chicago Animal Care and Control for working with Microchip Hunters - Envy didn't need a new home, she just needed to go home! Lost Dogs Illinois www.microchiphelp.com Microchip Hunters
