This little doll was at Chicago Animal Care and Control with an unregistered Avid microchip. Chicago Animal Control wasn't able to get owner information so sent it Microchip Hunters. They were sure she had a family, but nobody had come in for her yet.
I contacted Avid, and found out Cook County Animal Control implanted the microchip back in 2008. Cook County Animal Control was able to provide me owner information. I tried the numbers given, and both were disconnected numbers, so I began a check for relatives. One of the numbers I tried turned out to be the son-in-law of the owner. He answered right away, and said, yes my in-laws are missing a little black Chihuahua! He put his wife on the phone, and she said her mother is currently ill, but that she will leave right away to pick Chiquita up; she said this will make my mother feel better!!! They had been looking for her and her mother was very upset. Chiquita was picked up, and is now home safe and sound! Thank goodness CACC reached out to us. It would have been so sad if this little cutie got adopted or transferred to a rescue because the microchip wasn't registered. She has been a part of their family for at least 11 years! Found 6/6/2019; Reunited 6/12/2019. Welcome home Chiquita. ~Jeanette Lost Dogs Illinois Microchip Hunters "Thank u so much for all your help if it wasn't for you we would've never found her❤️.
