Bandit was on his last day of his stray hold, and microchip hunters received the microchip information from Chicago Animal Control. The owner on file had a disconnected phone number. Bandit had an adoption pending, so microchip hunters went to work quickly.
Thankfully, it took just a few minutes to reach a family member. She let me know that her daughter rehomed Bandit but knows the family and would have them call me. They called me back right away and told me they were here for the weekend from Michigan when he went missing. She didn't realize he was microchipped! I let the original owner know to email Chicago Animal Control to release Bandit to this family, and let his current family know we could pay the reclaim fee as they were not prepared to do so. "I do appreciate everything you all have done. I will make sure that he doesn't get out again." We are happy to be able to help get Bandit home. The microchip is already in the transfer of ownership process. Found 8/1/2021 Reunited 8/9/2021 Welcome home Bandit, you are a little cutie
